The team at New World Foods have been busy developing new products to supply to the club giant, Costco Australia. Over the past 6 months they have been working on a number of items that will culminate into a nationwide Roadshow program.

These products include Mariani Wagyu Five Spice Biltong, Mr Hamfreys Premium Bacon Bullets with Cheese and Mr Hamfreys Microwave Pork Crackle 4 pack. These new items compliment an already successful core range in the stores.

Account Manager, Travers Nicholas says “We are excited to have 5 products on the Costco floor during the months of  March and April. These products will be available for sampling at each store during the Roadshow program”.

In February, New World Foods launched a new Big Beef stick 25g under it’s Local Legends brand. This product is a single serve beef stick, packaged in an easy peel vacuum film. Made from quality Australian Beef this product offers a source of natural protein and is gluten free . The Local Legends big Beef stick is ideal for an on-the-go snack and as an addition to your lunch box snacks.

National Sales Manager, Shane Merriman says “We will continue to provide portable snacks that are tailored to meet our consumers specific diets and fill the gaps as we see an increase in snacking occasions.”

With much anticipation of the kick off to the 2021 V8 Supercars season after Covid put an end to live racing in 2020….The Local Legends Team Sydney Tekno team have unleashed the 2021 livery ready for the first round at Bathurst next week!

Carrying over with the signature fluro yellow which has become synonymous with Local Legends racing cars there’s no doubt you will not be able to miss the car on track!

With Fabian Coulthard behind the wheel this year we are confident we will see Local Legends on the podium in 2021!!!

It’s been a fruitful year for New World Foods with the team working hard to accomplish company goals.

We purchased the Meat Snacks Group in the UK, the largest producer of jerky & biltong in Europe, which has doubled the business & cemented our leadership position with our Kings, Cruga & Wild West brands.  Our sales team were set the task to look into the meat snacks market in Hawaii & have established opportunities to expand into the Hawaiian market next year which is intended for the first half of 2020.

Our brand Kings sponsored the Rugby World Cup grand finalist UK team launching limited edition rugby jersey beef jerky bags!

The team in Australia has recognised the appeal & demand of vegan products & have been solidly working to perfect the recipe & we hope to see our new vegan brand on shelves throughout Australia in early 2020. With the planned growth of the business we have been looking at opportunities to increase the production capability & after much research & discussion we have decided to invest back into our current facility at Casino with expansion of the current site which will see it double in size. Mid year we launched an Australian first with our microwavable pork crackle which has been received extremely well by both retailers & consumers.

All in all 2019 was a great year full of new opportunities, development & brand success in the meat snacks market!

Two of our New World Foods team; Rex De Vantier (Group General Manager) & Travers Nicholas (Asia Pacific Sales Manager) have just arrived back at HQ after a week travelling through scenic Japan, meeting with clients & sampling sake along the way! We’ve been assured it was merely sampled!!!

They met with the Sales team from supermarket leaders such as Don Quijote originally starting with 2 SKUs, they successfully secured an increase to 5 SKU’s including our Mariani Biltong, this makes New World Foods the FIRST biltong exporter into Japan & Don Quijote the first to import Biltong! A great mutual achievement for both parties.

A visit to JR Passengers secured the first PO for Wagyu Mariani Beef Jerky to be stocked on their bullet trains, at their stations & also on their platforms and Kiosks. This new Marian Beef Jerky offer is made from Premium Australian Wagyu beef which has always proven to be a highly popular product in Japan. You’ll start to see our products available on JR Passengers from early 2020.

Local Legends is proud to announce we have partnered with Triple Eight Racing as their meat snack supplier! Local Legends will be supplying our delicious Beef Jerky & Biltong to the team during the Supercars V8 rounds!

Our National Sales Manager Shane Merriman is working with other Triple Eight Racing partners including Red Bull, Holden & Caltex to drive brand presence & awareness across Australia.  In conjunction with these teams he is also collaborating to have Local Legends meat snacks available to Triple Eight Racing & Local Legends fans at future Supercars rounds.

Shane recently attended the Team Partner Function in Sydney, he said of the event & working with Triple Eight Racing “ The team at Local Legends are very excited to be working with Triple Eight Racing and supplying them with our Australian made, winning meat snacks. High in Protein and made from Premium Australian beef, our jerky and biltong is the perfect snack for both racers and fans alike”.
