How to make Mr. Hamfrey’s Microwaveable Pork Crackle?
To ensure you have a perfect and delicious eating experience it is important to read all instructions included on the Microwave Bag.
Mr. Hamfrey’s Pork Crackle is different from other Microwavable products such as popcorn.
It is essential that you shake the bag 5-6 times from side to side, in order to separate the pieces before heating the product in the Microwave.
What’s Microwavable Pork Crackle made from?
We take natural Pork Rind from pigs just as you would to create Pork Crackle on your Sunday Roast.
Where does the product come from?
Currently there are no Australian producers that can provide us with the same level of quality that we have found with Danish Pork products.
Quality is very important to us and this is why we decided to source our Pork Rinds from Denmark.
What is in the flavouring?
We wanted to keep things really simple, so we use the following ingredients for our seasonings:
Original – Natural sea salt…that’s all!
Does the product contain any Sugar?
You’ll be glad to know there is NO sugar in the Pork Rind or added in flavouring.
Does the product contain MSG?
No MSG is added or included in product.
What is shelf life of the Product?
All of our packets will come with a manufacturer’s ‘Best Before’ date printed on the back of pack. We recommend keeping the product no longer than 12 months past this date.
My bag went brown when cooking it, is this normal?
As mentioned on the cooking instructions, some Microwaves will vary in power. Browning of the bag may occur in Microwaves that are more powerful. Refer to the instructions on the bag and stay in visual range of the Microwave, keeping an eye on the bag and stopping the product once it is heated. Cooking times are a guide only and may vary with your Microwave.
I took my bag out too early, can I re-heat it?
The product will respond to additional cooking time. Do not leave the bag unattended in the microwave, watch to make sure it is spinning and make sure to read the cooking instructions on the bag.
I have over-cooked the product, can I still eat it?
That depends on how overcooked it is. If the produce is a dark shade of brown, although it might not be a great experience, you can still eat it. If it has overcooked to the point of charring or is blackened, please discard the product and do not consume.
I’m using a convection microwave, does that matter?
Yes, convection microwaves cook differently to standard microwaves and we strongly recommend putting the bag onto a microwaveable plate before cooking (Make sure to keep the bag the right way up). If the bag is placed directly on the Convection surface it may cause the bag to brown or blacken.
